Summer 2018 anime: Satsuriku no Tenshi (Angel of Death)

Summer 2018 anime: Satsuriku no Tenshi (Angel of Death)

The summer season of anime just started and there are a lot of new series to look forward to. One of the most anticipated is Satsuriku no Tenshi (Angel of Death, as known in English). The first episode already provided us with a lot of suspense and kept us at the edge of our chairs. From mysterious riddles written on walls to unknown identities, the first episodes already left us with a lot of questions that will, hopefully, be answered until the end of the show.

Plot

Rachel is a 13-year old girl that wakes up in a mysterious place where everyone seems to want to kill her. Lost and alone she is trying to find a way to get out. She meets a mysterious man, all covered in bandages and wielding a scythe, who at first was chasing her down, but things take a strange turn and they end up being allies.

The story will follow their adventure together. Will they find a way out? Can their bond stay strong until the end? Will they cling to the little bit of hope that is left, or will they be consumed by despair?

Characters

The main characters of this series are an unexpected duo between a young girl and a scary-looking guy wielding a scythe. Gardner Rachel (voiced by Chisuga Haruka) is a 13-year old girl that lost a part of her memories. She appears to be selfless and kind. Foster Isaac, a.k.a Zack (voiced by Okamoto Nobuhiko) is a man covered all up in bandages that enjoys slicing everything with his scythe (especially living beings). Despite his violent behaviour, he teams up with a helpless little girl like Rachel. The opposition of their characters will be interesting and dynamic, that’s for sure.

If you’re interested in horror and psychological thrillers follow Satsuriku no Tenshi this summer, airing every Friday.
